O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors recovered substantial damages on behalf of a client who had suffered from negligent dental treatment over many years at the hands of his general dentist.
Our client was a patient of the Defendant from over a period of more than ten years. He underwent numerous treatments during that period, to different areas of his mouth. Our client ultimate came under the care of another dentist, and became concerned about the standard of care he had received from his previous dentist. He eventually contacted O’Reilly Stewart to investigate the standard of care he received.
After obtaining independent expert evidence on liability and damage, we were able to proceed to settlement discussions with the Defendant’s representatives. Following negotiations between the parties, a substantial figure of £115,000 was agreed, which reflected the extent of the damage that had been caused over a prolonged period, and the treatment that had been and would be required to address that damage. The settlement was made without admission of liability.
