O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors are delighted to announce a bespoke CPD event, bringing together leading voices from legal, medical and financial fields to address some of the most topical issues in Personal Injury and Healthcare Law. Aspiring to promote excellence in the conduct of civil litigation in these fields and to foster a collaborative approach to the resolution of such disputes, we have assembled a panel nationally respected speakers to discuss financial loss and psychiatric injury.
James Rowley KC, former Chair of the Personal Injuries Bar Association from Byrom Street Chambers, and Nicola Niblock, partner and head of Sumer NI’s forensic accountancy practice, will advise on ensuring best value for your client in the negotiation and settlement of financial loss cases including; reviewing and pleading quantum cases, the conduct of expert meetings between quantum experts, negotiating a fair settlement for your client and presenting the financial loss claim at trial.
Addressing psychiatric injury, Dr Caroline Donnelly, Consultant Psychiatrist and Mr Martin Wolfe KC, Bar of Northern Ireland, will consider the incidence and aetiology of mental health injury, recognising and proving conditions (PTSD, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders), distinguishing primary and secondary victims, preparation of expert evidence, assessing damages, development and reform, with updates on evolving case law and Supreme Court decisions in the personal injury and medical negligence fields.
Chaired by Marie-Louise Connolly, BBC Health Correspondent, this promises to be a not-to-missed event which will provide insight and learning in these important practice areas.
