Joe Moore, who qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and became Managing Partner of O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors in 2004, has been appointed as a Master (Taxation and Enforcement of Judgements) in Northern Ireland.
Master Moore was sworn into office by the Right Honourable Dame Siobhan Keegan, the Lady Chief Justice of Northern Ireland. In his new role, he will be responsible for assessing bills of costs for cases in the High Court, the Criminal Appeal Court, Criminal Legal Aid cases, and solicitors’ bills delivered to the public where fee disputes arise. He will also serve as the Master for the Enforcement of Judgements.
Prior to his departure, Joe had been with O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors for 31 years, having joined as an apprentice. He is succeeded as Managing Director by Stuart Gilmore.
Joe specialised in clinical negligence, judicial review, and catastrophic personal injury litigation. He also lectures at the QUB Institute of Professional Legal Studies, and in 2023, he was appointed a Deputy County Court Judge.
While the entire team at O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors will miss Joe’s expertise and leadership, the directors and staff wish him all the very best in his future career.
