On the 5th July 2023, our trainee solicitor, Conor Cleverley (23), travelled to Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Down’s Syndrome Association day. After hiking over 45 miles and tackling altitude sickness, Conor successfully summitted the mountain on the 13th July at 6am. Uhuru Peak stands at 5895m and is the highest geographical point in the continent of Africa, being deemed ‘extreme high altitude.’
We would like to express our congratulations to Conor on his amazing fundraising journey!
A short note of thanks from Conor:
“I found the experience to be difficult but I thoroughly enjoyed every part of the journey. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity. To date I have raised over £9,300. A staggering amount for a small local charity, whose impact is felt by many. Down’s Syndrome Association is the only charity in Northern Ireland that helps people with Down’s Syndrome live full and rewarding lives by championing their rights and campaigning for continuous improvement of resources available. The money raised will be greatly appreciated by many.”
