The Contaminated Blood Inquiry is sitting in Belfast this week, with oral hearings having recently commenced in London. Many of those patients affected by what has been described as ‘the biggest scandal in NHS history’ are from Northern Ireland. Recent media stories have highlighted the struggles of some NI based patients as a result of contaminated blood products being given to them.
