£9 Million Compensation for Poor Care at Birth

In June 2022 Joe Moore secured a £9M compensation award on behalf of a child who developed cerebral palsy as a result of medical negligence at birth.   This child sustained brain damage as a result of a significant delay by the hospital in responding to an abnormal heartrate during labour.   This was a very complex case, where evidence was obtained for leading experts based in England.  Damages were awarded by the Court to enable the family to purchase a specially adapted home, where the child can receive specialist therapy and nursing support.   This is one of the most important compensation cases completed in Northern Ireland in recent years.  Specific details are not publicised to protect their privacy, but the outcome has been life-changing for the family, who can now provide 24hour care and support for their child.
