News & Insights: Licensing

Broker Restaurant

22 November 2022

O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors were delighted to act on behalf of restaurateur, Peter McCloskey, in obtaining his second liquor licence for his latest venture in East Belfast. Broker Restaurant, situated at 409 Upper Newtownards Road, is a cosy, sophisticated restaurant, replacing the insurance brokers which previously occupied the property – hence, the fitting name.

Our Commercial Director, Seamus McGranaghan, applied to the County Court for an Article 5(1(e)) licence, allowing for the sale of intoxicating liquor so long as it is ancillary to a substantial meal. This new enterprise will prove beneficial to the economy and social life in East Belfast, providing new opportunities for employment.

Broker’s liquor licence menu covers all areas of alcohol from wines to beers to innovative, refreshing cocktails. O’Reilly Stewart Solicitors were pleased to play an integral role in licensing this new restaurant which is soon to be beloved by locals and visitors alike.

Seamus can offer expertise advice to any restaurateur who is looking to licence their premises. Please do not hesitate to contact Seamus on 02890321000 for more information.
