Charlie completed his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University Belfast in 2023, achieving a First-class Honours in Law. During his time at Queen’s, Charlie was an active member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and had the opportunity of representing Queen’s at an international mediation competition at Bucerius Law School in Hamburg, Germany.
Charlie trained at a busy regional practice while attending the Institute of Professional Legal Studies from 2023 – 2025, graduating with a Commendation. He placed top of his year in the Solicitor Advocacy module, awarding him the DAC Beachcroft Prize. He also won an essay competition hosted by the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs, awarding him the opportunity of representing the Institute on a trip to the Council of Europe and European Court of Human Rights.
Before joining O’Reilly Stewart, Charlie trained in corporate and litigation, gaining experience in M&A, private equity, restructuring, and debt recovery. Charlie now practises in O’Reilly Stewart’s Commercial Litigation team, which involves a wide range of commercial disputes.
